Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–8 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach The King of the Grill Express at (517) 308-9762; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Amazing food, price and service. $10 for a pulled pork sandwich and two sides plus a drink is a STEAL in this economy. Great flavor and tender pork stuffed so full I was able to take from the sandwich and add to the mac for pulled pork mac and cheese. Might be the best corn bread I’ve had in Lansing as well, slightly sweet and super moist plus a huge portion. Absolute gem of a find while working in Lansing. Will definitely be back!

This place does NOT disappoint. If you’re looking for some local affordable BBQ this is definitely the spot. The staff, food, and atmosphere are great! I also have to recommend their desserts, which are all made in house, especially their lemon cake. Will be coming back again, love what they’re doing.

We have found our new barbecue restaurant in Lansing. I have to say this Is the best barbecue in the city of Lansing. From the ribs to the chicken to the pulled pork and brisket everything was delicious. Super friendly staff and very helpful and accommodating. We will be back thanks for the great experience.

This is one of those spots where when someone suggests it there is no debate. We are gonna always say yes. The food is amazing and brings back memories of great summer gatherings. The cheesy potatoes are a must have. Every meat option is absolutely the best. If visiting Lansing swing by Frandor and grab a plate and melt into the food.

Convenient location near Frandor, clean with a nice atmosphere, awesome customer service and the food is fantastic! There are two BBQ sauces you can use, but the proteins are so juicy and flavorful that you do not need it! We tried nachos with beef brisket, a three meat platter of flank steak, grilled chicken and beef brisket with green beans and mixed vegetable side dishes. I was so impressed I had to try the pulled pork with more green beans (so good!). The portion sizes are more than fair for the quality and deliciousness! Don't skip dessert either. A variety is available but we recommend the in house made banana pudding, or the carrot cake (from Bake N Cakes down the way that's an amazing bakery). Definitely coming back to try the ham and turkey next time!
